Headquartered in Singapore and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Asia Capital Reinsurance Group (ACR) is the world’s first independent reinsurance group with an exclusive focus on serving clients in the fast-growing pan-Asian region, extending from the Middle East, through China and Japan, and south to Australia and New Zealand.
Ranked among the top 50 reinsurers globally, ACR offers clients a combination of strong Asian dedicated capacity, global underwriting standards and expertise, as well as in-depth knowledge of the Asian insurance markets. Our shareholders are reputable global institutions who are committed to the long-term sustainability of ACR. We received an ‘A- (Excellent)’ rating from A.M. Best in November 2006 at inception. In November 2008, we were assigned a long term insurer financial strength rating and counterparty credit rating of 'A- (Strong)' from Standard & Poor’s.
ACR was most recently named the “Reinsurance Company of the Year” at The Review’s 18th Worldwide Reinsurance Awards 2011. This is ACR’s second win within five years from the Worldwide Reinsurance Awards – the company was named 'Company Launch of the Year' in 2007. ACR also received in 2010, together with our shareholder 3i Group, the “Best Performing VC/PE-Backed Company” award by the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association. ACR was previously awarded the “Most Innovative Deal – Equity” at The Asset’s Triple A- The Asset Asian Awards 2006, and “Newcomer of the Year” at the Reinsurance Readers’ Awards 2008.
Beyond Singapore, ACR presently has representative offices in Taiwan, India, Japan and Korea, and a branch office in Hong Kong. It also has two associated companies, Asia Capital Reinsurance Malaysia Sdn Bhd and ACR ReTakaful Holdings Limited. ACR ReTakaful Holdings’ two wholly-owned operating subsidiaries in Bahrain and Malaysia together provide retakaful capacity among the largest in the world.
