Headquartered in Singapore and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Asia Capital Re is the world’s first independent reinsurance company with an exclusive focus on serving clients in the fast-growing pan-Asian region, extending from the Middle East to China and Japan.
Ranked among the world's top 50 reinsurers, Asia Capital Re offers clients a combination of strong Asian dedicated capacity, global underwriting standards and expertise, as well as in-depth knowledge of the Asian insurance markets. We specialise in providing reinsurance solutions for large and complex risks across business lines of aviation, casualty, credit & surety, energy, engineering, marine, medical, motor and property.
Our shareholders are reputable global institutions who are committed to the long-term sustainability of Asia Capital Re. We received an ‘A- (Excellent)’ rating from A.M. Best in November 2006 at inception. In November 2008, we were assigned a long-term insurer financial strength rating and counterparty credit rating of 'A- (Strong)' from Standard & Poor’s.
Asia Capital Re was most recently named the “Insurance Company of the Year” at The Asset’s annual Triple A Investment Awards 2012, which is the second win at the Awards – the company was named the “Most Innovative Deal - Equity” in 2006. Asia Capital Re was also awarded the “Reinsurance Company of the Year” at the 18th Worldwide Reinsurance Awards 2011. This is the second award received within five years from the Worldwide Reinsurance Awards – the company was awarded the “Company Launch of the Year” in 2007. Asia Capital Re also received in 2010, together with our shareholder 3i Group, the “Best Performing VC/PE-Backed Company” award by the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, and the “Newcomer of the Year” at the Reinsurance Readers’ Awards 2008.
Beyond Singapore, we have two branch offices in Hong Kong and Dubai, representative offices in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, and a liaison office in India. Asia Capital Re also has two associated companies, Asia Capital Reinsurance Malaysia Sdn Bhd and ACR ReTakaful Holdings Limited. ACR ReTakaful Holdings’ two wholly-owned operating subsidiaries in Malaysia and Bahrain together provide Shariah-compliant reinsurance coverage to the Islamic community worldwide.
