In John’s 30-year career, he has held an array of senior positions in the insurance industry, primarily in Southeast Asia. Since 1976, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in many aspects of the business, including underwriting, reinsurance, claims and broking.

In 2006, John founded Asia Capital Reinsurance Group, a reinsurance firm focusing exclusively on the pan-Asian market.

A K has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, primarily in senior management roles. He was previously the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Overseas Assurance Corporation (Malaysia) and has also served on the Board of Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Engineering, Honours) from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).

A K is responsible for steering the effort for more synergies and efficiency within the group. He also provides oversight to ACR's associated companies.

Kiat Chong has over 40 years of public and private sector experience in various fields, including finance, economic and national development, logistics and human resources. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the National Productivity Board and the Port of Singapore Authority, and held executive positions in some public-listed companies. Kiat Chong also had active professional engagements in China. He holds a Master of Arts (Development Economics) from Williams College (USA).

Kiat Chong is responsible for ACR Group’s Strategy and Corporate Development and the building up of its Economic Research capabilities. He also manages its Human Capital development, including its organisational strategy and operational effectiveness; and oversees ACR’s Advisory Panel.

Frank has 16 years of experience steering key financial investments and strategic corporate development initiatives across various high-growth industries. Prior to joining ACR, he was the Investment Director of a private equity firm. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and a Master in Science (Electrical Engineering) from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Frank oversees Communications, Legal & Compliance and Information Technology for all ACR entities.

Chong Liong has about 20 years of experience in financial and strategic management across a range of sectors, including telecommunications, broadcasting, property and power while holding finance and treasury responsibilities at Malaysian-based conglomerate, the Usaha Tegas Group. He holds a Master of Business Administration (International Management) from RMIT University, Melbourne, and is a Certified Public Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Chong Liong is responsible for the oversight of Asia Capital Reinsurance Group.

Suhaimi has more than 25 years of experience in the financial and insurance sectors. A Certified Public Accountant, Singapore, Suhaimi was previously an auditor with KPMG and Ernst & Young and following that, the Financial Controller at the Asia regional office of Folksam International Insurance Co Ltd & Fund American International Insurance Co Ltd.  Before joining ACR, he was Assistant General Manager (Finance & Administration) at Arab Insurance Group, Singapore. He holds an Master of Business Administration (University of Manchester) as well as Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and Chartered Financial Consultants qualifications. 

Suhaimi is responsible for Finance, Technical Accounting, Investment and Treasury.

Jim has 26 years of experience leading the development of risk solutions, including 15 years in Asia Pacific. He has held a wide variety of senior positions in the reinsurance industry, including senior management, underwriting, marketing, broking, operations and statutory actuarial roles. Jim has worked for Swiss Re, Aon and Towers Perrin. Jim is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and a Fellow of the Singapore Actuarial Society.

Jim holds responsibility for Facultative & Specialty underwriting. In addition, he provides guidance and leadership for the active development of structured solutions for clients and partners.

A Chartered Insurer, Micky has been involved in property and engineering underwriting for 25 years. He has managed facultative and treaty portfolios in Asia for reinsurers such as Swiss Re, St Paul Re and Compagnie Transcontinentale de Re. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Structural) from the National University of Singapore. He is also an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and an Associate in Risk Management of the Insurance Institute of America.

Micky holds responsibility for Treaty underwriting, client relations as well as representative offices overseas.

Whye Loon has 20 years of insurance experience focusing on actuarial, underwriting, risk management and business development roles spanning the Asia Pacific, USA and Middle East. He joined ACR from Al Fajer Retakaful Insurance Company, K.S.C.C., Kuwait, where he was its Chief Risk Officer.  His previous employers include OAC Insurance, Allianz Re and Watson Wyatt. Whye Loon holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Actuarial Science, from the University of Central Oklahoma, USA.

Whye Loon leads the Risk Management team in accumulation, actuarial, capital modelling and retrocession function of the company as well as oversees the implementation of ACR’s Enterprise Risk Management process.
