Management Team

In John’s 30-year career, he has held an array of senior positions in the insurance industry, primarily in South East Asia. Since 1976, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in many aspects of the business, including underwriting, reinsurance, claims and broking.

In 2006, John founded Asia Capital Reinsurance Group, a reinsurance firm focusing exclusively on the Pan Asian market.

A K has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, primarily in senior management roles. He was previously the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Overseas Assurance Corporation (Malaysia) and has also served on the Board of Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Engineering, Honours) from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).

A K is responsible for steering the effort for more synergies and efficiency within the group. He also provides oversight to the joint venture companies.

Jim has 25 years of experience in reinsurance, insurance and actuarial consulting. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and a Fellow of the Singapore Actuarial Society.

Jim holds responsibility for risk management, claims and retrocession. In addition, he provides guidance and leadership for the active development of structured solutions for strategic clients and partners.

Peter has more than 20 years of experience in the underwriting and business development fields, in the international reinsurance and insurance markets. He started his career with a specialist insurer in Germany and moved to Gerling Global Reinsurance Group in Switzerland. He established Gerling Global Re’s first Asian branch in Kuala Lumpur and subsequently became the Regional Head and CEO, opening the regional office in Singapore and later representative offices throughout key Asian markets. Prior to joining ACR, Peter started the Asia/Pacific operations of msg systems, a German software company specialising in insurance and reinsurance solutions. Peter has a Doctorate in Social Science and a Master of Public and Business Administration from the University of Konstanz.

Peter holds responsibility for underwriting, client relations as well as branch and representative offices overseas.

Chong Liong has about 20 years of experience in financial and strategic management across a range of sectors – including telecommunications, broadcasting, property and power while holding finance and treasury responsibilities at Malaysian-based conglomerate, the Usaha Tegas Group. He holds a Master of Business Administration (International Management) from RMIT University, Melbourne, and is a Certified Public Accountant with The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Chong Liong is responsible for Finance, Investment & Treasury, Corporate Development and Administration.

Frank has 16 years of experience steering key financial investments and strategic corporate development initiatives across various high-growth industries. Prior to joining ACR, he was the Investment Director of a private equity firm. He holds a Master of Business Administration from National University of Singapore and a Master in Science (Electrical Engineering) from University of California, Los Angeles.

Frank is responsible for Corporate Governance, Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology and Corporate Communications. He also holds a supervisory role for Corporate Development.

Christopher comes to ACR with extensive experience in claims consultancy and a wealth of expertise in claims adjustment and management, acquired from his 30-year career with the Charles Taylor Consulting Group. He is a Fellow of The Association of Average Adjusters, UK.

Greg has more than 30 years of legal experience, a large part of which was spent at American International Assurance Co. Ltd (the flagship insurance company of American Insurance Group Inc.) as Director, Executive Vice President and General Counsel for the Asian region. He continues to sit on some AIG Boards in Asia and as an independent non executive director of a listed entity in Hong Kong.

Vicky brings to her role her financial expertise and analytical skills together with 13 years of international business experience from working with organisations such as Motorola, Swiss Re and the World Bank. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy and a Master of Arts (Economic) from the Ohio State University, as well as a Master of Business Administration (Finance and Entrepreneurial Management) from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Antoine has more than 10 years of international experience in the aviation industry. He was previously with French dedicated aviation insurer La Reunion Aerienne in Paris before moving to London with Catlin as Aviation Class underwriter in 2007. He specialised in underwriting international business for airlines with a strong focus on Asian clients. Antoine graduated from Reims Management School in France.

Kenrick has 15 years of expertise in casualty underwriting, including 11 years at Swiss Re where he initially assumed casualty treaty underwriting functions for Greater China and subsequently held responsibilities for managing and developing the casualty treaty business across Asia. He holds a Master of Arts (Economics) from the University of Toronto, Ontario.

Beat has 45 years of experience in the energy sector, commencing his career with Gulf Oil Corporation as a research geophysicist before managing the worldwide technical exploration operations of Gulf Oil Corporation and then Chevron. Thereafter, he spent 12 years at Swiss Re as head of offshore energy underwriting followed by three years of risk engineering and consulting for energy and insurance companies. Beat holds a Master in Geodesy and Geophysics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.

Hon Choong's underwriting career spans 20 years, a significant part of which was spent at Swiss Re where he specialised in marine risks, particularly with regard to Asia's emerging markets ex-Japan. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from the National University of Singapore, and is a Fellow of The Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).

A Chartered Insurer, Micky has been involved in property and engineering underwriting for 25 years. He has managed facultative and treaty portfolios in Asia for reinsurers such as Swiss Re, St Paul Re and Compagnie Transcontinentale de Re. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Structural) from the National University of Singapore. He is also an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and an Associate in Risk Management of the Insurance Institute of America.
