Senior Executive, Claims
Overall Purpose of the Job
• Responsible for the processing of all individual claims related to Proportional Treaties; • Assist in claims assessment and settlement; • Review, follow-up and manage Accounting OSLRs and non refunded Cash-Calls; • Monitor regular controls on Accounting/Non-Accounting loss movements; • Assist in reporting of Proportional Treaty performance to Management, Risk, Underwriting on regular basis and during specific periods/requests.
Reporting Relations
Reports To : Claims Manager Direct Reports : N.A.
Specific Responsibilities
• Responsible for the proper and efficient processing of both Treaty and Facultative claims of all classes, assessment of adequate reserves, advising on the validity and the correct amount of the loss, and attending to claim settlement in liaison with the Finance Department; • Monitor and ensure proper recording, filing systems and accuracy of all bookings and strict monitoring of cash calls; • Assist in the preparation of reports on claim reserves, outstanding losses and claim statistics; • Appoint and liaise with Specialist Surveyors, Adjusters, Lawyers and other service providers as necessary; • Handle recoveries from third parties; • Attend to Clients, Brokers and business contacts, and deal with enquiries, promptly and efficiently; • Assist in other duties within the work scope of the Claims Department; • Liaise with underwriting and finance departments on technical and accounting issues; • Any other duties as so directed by the management.
Required Skills / Work Experience
• At least 5 years experience in Reinsurance or Claims environment; • Be self motivated and able to work independently; • Be a good team player; • Possess a good command of the English Language; proficiency in a second language preferred; • Good IT knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications
• Professional qualification in insurance and/or claims fields an advantage.

Senior Underwriter, Property & Engineering
Overall Purpose of the Job
• Work within a team of property underwriters, each of whom with dedicated territorial responsibilities; • Primary responsibilities include underwriting, managing and steering a portfolio of facultative risks, as well as ensuring profitably; • Develop and service a book of facultative businesess; and conduct market visits when and where expected; • Train, mentor, develop and guide underwriters within the team; • Assist the Head of Department in setting out the directions, targets and goals for the team; and • Assist the Head of Department in setting out Underwriting Guidelines.
Reporting Relations
Reports To : Head, Property, Energy and Engineering, Facultative Direct Reports : N.A
Specific Responsibilities
• Grow a book of facultative risks in designated territory or territories in line with ACR’s target industries/occupancies, portfolio mix and profit expectations; • Service current client base – cedants and intermediaries – through regular dialogue and technical exchanges; • Adhere to ACR's Underwriting Guidelines and Best Practices, as well as ACR's Code of Conduct; and contribute towards enhancement or fine-tuning of these guidelines; • Provide training and development to junior members of the team, or even to members from other functional units e.g. Marketing, Claims and/or other lines of business; • Formulate market-specific strategies, together with the Client Relations team and Underwriters from other lines of business; • Accountable for the quality of the portfolio and completeness of its records; • Keep track of the claims incurred and assist the Claims Department, when needed, in the handling and settlement of the claims; and • Any other responsibilities or duties that may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Required Skills / Work Experience
• At least 10 years of underwriting experience in a senior position in facultative, practical experience in risk analysis and in the use of rating methods; • Familiarity with standard wordings and clauses prevalent in the various markets; • Possess good knowledge of the risk landscape in the underlying industries as well as familiarity with the markets, the distribution systems and the key players; • Knowledge and application of state-of-the-art underwriting techniques as well as familiarility with IT systems and applications; • Experience in the industry associated with risks in the unit in which the Candidate underwrites, is desirable; • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; and independently manage designated territory or territories.
Required Qualifications
• Degree holder and / or ACII qualification or equivalent; • Degree in Engineering or other equivalent technical qualification would be desirable.

Analyst, Investment
Overall Purpose of the Job
• Support the Investment team in providing research, analysis and financial modelling/forecast for various investment activities. These include credit, sovereign and foreign exchange analyses; • Be involved in all other investment related projects, investment administrative and reporting functions.
Reporting Relations
Reports To : Head, Investment Direct Report : Senior Portfolio Manager
Specific Responsibilities
• Analyse and monitor the industry, the business and financial risks for companies and banks to support investment decisions; • Prepare credit reports, which includes collating key financial data and making financial forecast to supplement credit research; • Perform macroeconomic and foreign exchange research to support investment decisions; • Attend regular meetings/teleconferences with brokers/issuers/rating agencies; • Develop and improve the credit investment process; • Investment reporting functions; • Liaise with banks, financial institutions and other external parties on investment’s operational matters; • Assist in other investment-related projects/platforms such as front office system, risk management or any other responsibilities as required by management; and • Assist in investment administration duties.
Required Skills / Work Experience
• Team player; • Strong quantitative and analytic skills; • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with both internal and external parties; • Able to work independently under minimum supervision; • Able to work under pressure with strong drive to succeed and open minded; and • Able to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Required Qualifications
• University degree in Accounting/ Economics/ Finance/ Commerce/ Business Administration and/or its equivalent; • Minimum 2 years' experience in Finance and/or Banking; • A CFA charter will be an added advantage.

Analyst, Pricing
Overall Purpose of the Job
• Develop and maintain pricing tools for all classes and types of business; • Develop and maintain analysis for all classes and types of business.
Reporting Relations
Reports To : Head of Pricing and Analytics, Facultative and Speciality Direct Reports : N/A
Specific Responsibilities
• Under general supervision, applies advanced level of mathematical, statistical and actuarial methods in the performance of pricing functions; • Perform actuarial tasks of a mathematical nature: include actuarial pricing, experience studies, profitability analyses, financial and market research, contract analysis and other assignments; • Develop and maintain pricing tools for all classes and types of business. This includes but not limited to developing and programming pricing logic, pricing template maintenance, regular reporting, proper technical documentation and preparation of training materials; • Peer reviewing underwriters’ and other analysts’ pricing; • Compile and analyze data. Document and verify the factors used in computations; • Gain knowledge about company operations, systems, and actuarial methodologies; and • Perform other related work as required.
Required Skills / Work Experience
• Actuarial experience in general insurance.
Required Qualifications
• University degree with a major in actuarial studies or statistics; • Some progress in actuarial profession exams.

Assistant, Technical Accounts
Overall Purpose of the Job
• Assist the Senior Manager, Technical Accounts in discharging and fulfilling reinsurance technical accounting functions.
Reporting Relations
Reports To : Senior Executive, Technical Accounts Direct Reports : N.A
Specific Responsibilities
• Processing and Booking of Treaty Statement of Accounts; • Booking of Facultative Closings; • Filing and documentation of Technical Accounts department documents; • Perform other duties as required to ensure a smooth operation of the Technical Accounts department.
Required Skills / Work Experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; • 1-2 years’ relevant experience in insurance/reinsurance industry preferred. New graduates interested in pursuing a career in the insurance/reinsurance industry may apply and comprehensive training will be provided; • Meticulous, independent and positive working attitude; • Proactive team player.
Required Qualifications
• Diploma in insurance, business studies or “A” Level equivalent.
