“I gained a lot of valuable experience from the civil engineering and construction aspect of my previous work experiences. As an underwriter now, that helps me to better understand my clients’ businesses and risks. I enjoy developing win-win solutions for our clients, an approach that cements and builds long-term relationships. If you are someone who cherishes ownership, pursues positive changes and enjoys new adventures, then ACR may just be suitable for you. Go for the opportunity — give us a try because we are up and coming. It is definitely very fruitful because you will learn a lot.”
“We have a very diverse IT team with people from multiple countries, which is the case across the whole company. We all come together to find the best solutions for the business, while getting to run interesting projects such as robotics programmes to drive greater efficiency. Outside of work, I like running and have started the ACR Running Club with weekly runs with my colleagues. While it’s always too warm to run in Singapore, it feels good to see fellow ACR runners pick up and improve their running, and we all run together as a team at major races in Singapore. To someone considering whether to join ACR, my advice would be to connect to as many people as possible to get a feel of the company’s values and culture. There are plenty of interesting things to do here.”
“I appreciate the opportunity to switch roles across different teams in ACR. I knew that there would be challenges along the way, but I would say the journey really depends on the individual and how you want to go through it. For me, I constantly told myself that I could do it before I went ahead to… Just do it. My then and current team members, managers and everyone else has also been very supportive in helping me realise my aspirations. Things happen at a very fast pace here at ACR, and this builds your adaptability and agility. But if you are on the ball, you will feel great accomplishing great things.”
